Arusha – Manyara – Ngorongoro – Serengeti
DAY 1 : Arrival / Arusha
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Classic Safaris Representative will be there to greet you, transfer you to your hotel and go over your travel arrangements. You will spend one night at Arusha Coffee Lodge.
The city of Arusha, with a population of around 150,000 people, sits in a pleasant, lush valley, divided by the Naura River near the base of 15,000-ft Mt. Meru. This bustling city, the safari capital of Tanzania, is the economic center of an area with a rich agricultural economy, thanks to the rich volcanic soil. Your first night in Africa is spent at the Arusha Coffee lodge. This cozy, boutique hotel/lodge is built within a coffee plantation just outside Arusha.
Overnight: Arusha Coffee Lodge
Day 2, 3: Lake Manyara National Park
The excitement of your safari begins as you are collected from Arusha Coffee Lodge and be transferred to the Arusha airport for your Air Excel flight from Arusha departing at 0800hrs to Manyara arriving at 0820hrs. You will be collected at Manyara Airstrip and driven with fellow guests to &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge.

Lake Manyara, at 3,150 feet in altitude, varies in salinity according to the amount of rain, and at times it is replete with flamingos, pelicans, storks and cormorants.
Overnight: Lake Manyara Tree Lodge
Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
You will be collected at &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge and driven with fellow guests to Manyara Airstrip. (approx. 3 and a half hour road transfer). You will be collected at Manyara airstrip and driven with fellow guests to &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. (approx. 1 and a half hour road transfer). You will explore the crater this afternoon.
Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. The cone is believed to have collapsed nearly two million years ago, and while the cone was standing, it could have been as tall, if not taller, than Mt. Kilimanjaro. The crater (1,800 feet deep and 102 square miles) is a microcosm of East African scenery with abundant wildlife – more than 25,000 larger animals, mostly zebra and wildebeest. This is also the best place in Tanzania to see magnificent black-maned lion and black rhino. A soda lake changes size depending on the rains that are the lifeline of this amazing land.
Colorful flamingoes and more than 100 species of birds found here and not in the Serengeti, frequent the area. Patience may also reward you with glimpses of leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, elephant, warthog, buffalo, impala, buffalo, hartebeest, eland and lots of other antelopes. As you descend into the crater, you may see the local Maasai as they take their cattle down the steep walls of the crater.
Overnight: Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
Day 5, 6, 7: Serengeti National Park
You will be collected at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and driven with fellow guests to Manyara Airstrip. (approx. 1 and a half hour road transfer) for your Air Excel flight from Manyara departing at 0800hrs to Lobo Airstrip in the Northern part of the Serengeti. You will spend the next 3 nights at Serengeti Migration Camp where your stay is in a luxurious safari tent, on an all-inclusive basis.
Serengeti National Park (3,646,500 acres) is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania’s protected areas with over three million large mammals roaming its plains. The Serengeti has come to symbolize paradise to all, including the local Maasai, who have grazed their cattle on the vast grassy plains for generations. To the Maasai, it is Siringitu – "the place where the land goes on forever." Today, the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the Maasai Mara Game Reserve across the border in Kenya, protect the greatest and most varied collection of terrestrial wildlife on earth, and one of the last great migratory systems still intact.
Built very discreetly on kopjes and wooded acacia trees, Migration Camp is located in the North Central Serengeti, overlooking the hippo filled Grumeti River. Migration Camp has 20 luxury tented lodges as well as one honeymoon suite that has its own private jacuzzi pool. The spacious rooms have a luxurious feeling to them. All of the comfortable white linen lined beds with modern facility tents have a verandah oriented westwards towards the spectacular Northern Serengeti sunset.
